My name is Sonah but people call me ‘Sonny’. I am a Scottish Pakistani jeweller, living, studying, and working in Scotland.
After my initial exposure to crafting a simple brass band while traveling in Cambodia 5 years ago, I embarked on a journey in the world of jewellery making. It has become not only a creative outlet but also a therapeutic process that allows me to connect with my cultural roots. My passion for jewellery stems from my fascination with all things that glitter, as well as my deep appreciation for history.
For me, jewellery serves as a portal to the past, a bridge between the ancient and the contemporary. My ultimate goal is to create pieces that become cherished heirlooms that continue to grace the lives of generations yet to come. Each creation is a testament to the enduring allure of jewellery and the timeless stories it can carry forward.

In each piece that I create, I am conscious of the environment we share. That is why currently all my gold and 95% of my silver are recycled from old jewellery and hallmark or chemically verified.

My Approach
My approach to making jewellery is old school. I like to take the bare bones, the grain, and melt it into ingots right here in my studio. I then create all my wire and sheet metals from scratch. This cuts down on waste and gives me the personal pleasure of knowing anything I make, I make completely myself, using carbon-neutral methods.
